                                                    Property tax information


You probably already know your taxes have went up based on your property value going up.
There is a petition going around to get property taxes reduced, that may or may not work.
I spoke with a person at a bank awhile ago and they said that the tax value is less than the
sell value.  I am also concerned about the large jump in real estate tax I was assessed .

On the back of your tax assessment notice you get, you have I believe 60 days to appeal it
and you have to provide a lot of information for that appeal.  I have the address of the Office
of Tax Advisor.  This person is appointed by the County Council to investigate complaints concerning
value of Property.  The tax advisor helps citizens understand the tax assessment process
and help them appeal the property tax assessment if they feel the value is too high. 
We could either individually contact the office or be unified and sign a petition and have someone
present it to him personally.  Let me know what you think by e-mailing me at:
